Fairly simple. Let's use "T" for the number of texts. (so boring using "x" all the time!) :)
3.50 + .15T = 6.00 + .10T

So, the question asks for when the two plans would be the same, or "equal." Plan A: You would pay $3.50 per month, plus $.15 for every text you make during that month. Plan B: You would pay $6.00 per month, plus $.10 for every text you make during that month. So, set up your equation: 3.50 + .15T = 6.00 + .10T Solve for T (number of Texts): T=50 That means that if you made exactly 50 texts each month, it woudn't matter which plan you chose. If you make 51 or more texts a month, Plan B is cheaper for you. If you make fewer than 50 texts each month, Plan A would be cheaper. Try it! Plug in some numbers for "T" and see for yourself!09/21/20

Thanks! Helped with my math homework. Didn’t want to get the full answer (so I could do it myself) but was confused out of my mind on the equation. Thanks a lot!10/30/19
