I would add only this - Ask yourself, "what is valuable" in this novel. Are the products in the novel of some value to the characters...or do they create more conflict? (That's how you can get to the "good" vs "bad" question.)
Remember to cite evidence - use direct quotes to back up any of your answers, and to help you explain your answers.
