Think of this as a circle with a radius of 25cm. Since we know that the minute hand makes one revolution every 60 minutes, we can conclude that 40 minutes would be (2/3) of the total perimeter. So just take the perimeter of the circle (pi*diameter) and multiply by (2/3) to get your answer!
