Thank you. For your question. I have recently finished writing a commentary on the Book of Matthew. During my study of this Gospel, I discovered at least two major themes.
- The nature and growth of the Kingdom of Heaven and the characteristics required of its citizens.
- The power of Jesus Christ’s sacrificial, atoning death on the cross to redeem sinners and reconcile them to God.
For this reason, I have chosen to give my commentary the title The Kingdom, the Cross, and the Glory (the last word referring to his resurrection from the dead).
Both themes are central to my life and my Christian faith as I seek to develop the characteristics of a true citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven, my citizenship in that Kingdom assured because I have placed my faith in Jesus and in his atonement for my sins on the cross.
