unless they get re-elected, then they serve two two year terms for a total of 4 years
if they get re-elected twice, they serve 6 years
if they get appointed to fill out the remaining 1 year of someone who resigned, then they serve only one year if they never get re-elected.
IF they keep getting re-elected, they could serve 8, 10, 12,...20,22, 24... years with a virtual life term
