If Anne sells three times as many boxes of cookies as Nicole, then she will have sold 68 more boxes than Nicole sells. Anne has currently sold 703 boxes more than 25% of what Emma has sold. Emma has sold 636 boxes of cookies. How many boxes of cookies has Nicole sold?

Unless I am misunderstanding the intended question, it appears that the 2nd and 3rd sentences have nothing to do with Nicole. Which means that we can solve the problem quickly and easily by removing the 2nd and 3rd sentences, and just using the first and last sentence. The first sentence translates into:
A = 3 * N, and
A = N + 68
or
3 * N = N + 68
2 * N = 68
N has sold 34 boxes
If Anne sells three times as many boxes of cookies as Nicole,
A=3N
then she will have sold 68 more boxes than Nicole sells.
A=68+N
substitute 3N for A
3N=68+N
-N -N
2N=68
/2 /2
N=34
Unnecessary information:
Anne has currently sold 703 boxes more than 25% of what Emma has sold.
Emma has sold 636 boxes of cookies.
34 boxes of cookies
