Car A, traveling 70 miles per hour (mph) leaves Phoenix headed towards Las Vegas, 302 miles away. At the same time Car B, traveling 60 miles per hour, leaves Vegas heading towards Phoenix. When do the two meet?

The cars meet when the sum of the two distances is 302.

Let x = time it takes for the cars to meet

Then, 70x + 60x = 302

130x = 302

x = 2.32 hours (about 2 hours 19 minutes 12 seconds)
