Assume for a minute that the lawn is 1000 ft² (This is arbitrary... you can use any reasonable number!)

So, Wilma mows 1000 ft²/40 minutes and Vanessa mows 1000 ft²/20 minutes

or Wilma mows 25 ft²/minute and Vanessa mows 50 ft²/minute

So, together, they can mow 75 ft²/minute Then, 1000 ft²/(75 ft²/minute) = 13.33 minutes (Both together)
