Think about this...In the Wall Street Journal's latest article highlighting the positive attributes of renowned speakers,...the apostrophe only refers to that Journal, not any other word in the sentence. Therefore, keeping the apostrophe as well as the 's' italicized seems logical. It also looks normal and doesn't make the reader pause to wonder why the type is different regarding the reference to this latest article. Otherwise, you might enter the Journal name in regular type with the -'s included in regular type format. (parallel construction). However, your would not be including publishing rules concerning the names of journals or magazines. Just a consideration...
