Well sometimes the main and the first problem is - fear. Fear to speak, fear to listen, fear like panic. So, it is important to solve this problem first of all. My opinion is - every beginner must have a person, who can encourage him to learn and to speak. It can be a teacher in class or a tutor in person.
What could you suggest to do while learning English as a second language and how to do it better, depending on your own experience? What language do you think in?

Listen to everything in English: podcasts, music, movies, TV shows (You can turn on close captioning in your language). Try practicing speaking with others, especially those fluent in English. Practice makes perfect!

Just to add to what Lauren said, I would also say do not be afraid or intimated to speak. You would make mistakes but it is part of the learning process so do not let that deter you. Just keep practising.10/29/19
