There are two ways to address this question.

One way is to divide 8 by 3, which gives you 0.375.

However, if you are wanting to save time, this strategy may help.

1. Recognize that 3/8 is less than 4/8. This is the same as 0.5 and eliminates answers A and B.
2. Recognize that 3/8 is greater than 2/8 which is 0.25. When you take half of 0.25 , you obtain 0.125. This is equal to 1/8. Answer D, is only 0.050 more than 2/8, therefore this can not be the answer. Therefore, the answer is C.
