250 ml = 0.250 L
0.250 L * (1 mole/ 1 L NaCl) * (54.4 g/ mole NaCl) = 13.6 g NaCl.
You would add 13.6 g NaCl to 250 mL of water.

Thank you for this observation. However, I was providing a simplified answer. I was assuming the student would follow lab protocol in making solutions. This would be adding the NaCl in a glass container, add 100 ml of water, stir the solution, and add the water up to 250 mL.
