A wheat vendor uses 1200 g instead of 1kg while buying and uses 900 g instead of 1 kg while selling . He also adds 5 kg of brown stone per 100 kg. If he gives a discount of 10 % , find his profit or loss accrued?

Let us assume that he buys 100kg of wheat at $10/kg to start with. Also let us assume that he sells at the same price as he buys.
Amount bought for = 100 * 10 = $1000
Actual quantity bought = 1.2 * 100 = 120kg
Brown stone added = 5/100 * 120 = 6kg
Total quantity for sale = 126kg
Sale price (after 10% discount) = $9
Amount sold for = 126 *9 / 0.9 = $1260 (as he uses only 900gm to weight 1 kg)
Total profit = 1260 - 1000 = $260
Profit % = 26% <- Ans.
