Native Californians as in First Peoples would be from Mayan descent, same descent from First People in Mexico and Latin America. Spaniards arrived in the fifteenth century to the Carribean surround areas. They did not arrive in California until later, would have to look it up. They oppressed the First People, applied various levels of the caste system depending on how much of a mixture of Spaniard/Native they were. Now most Native Californians are mestizos (mixture).
