Experienced Statistics Professor Can Help You Get Your A+!
Hi Brandy! I would prefer that my next statistics test converted to a z-score would be 2.00. Based on the range of z-scores for the normal distribution, a z-score of 2.00 indicates that my test score is 2.00 standard deviations above the mean test score for all tests taken (the mean score has a z-score of 0). Looking at the Empirical Rule, approximately 95% of all students had test scores with z-scores between -2.00 and 2.00, therefore only 5% of the students scored below -2.00 and above 2.00. Dividing this percentage in half, I can determine that only 2.5% of all scores were higher than mine, so I scored very high on the test! Yay!!! :)
