Hi there Alayjah!
The Great Depression was an era that dominated the global economy from 1929 to the late 1930s.
More specifically to the United States, the American people faced many social and economic challenges. With several causes from the October 1929 Wall Street Crash, farm overproduction, reduction in purchasing, etc., banks began to fail which also aligned with the closure of many businesses and factories. As a result, millions were out of work and lived in poverty. Many families were left homeless and hungry. Unfortunately, children had to leave school and other educational opportunities in order to help their family with work.
However, these challenges began to take a turn once Franklin D Roosevelt took office and enforced the New Deal.
Hope this helped!
