The cultural behavior of chimps has most to do with sharing a common goal, or specific behavior that the population that is learned from other group members. In chimpanzees, they learn social customs, tool use, and a variety of calls that differ upon the animal, not to mention hunting and foraging together. The mother teachers her son/daughter, eating by smashing open a coconut, and the child catches on.
