If I have a C (70.76%) and i get a zero on a test that is 10% of my grade, am I passing or failing?

The 70.76 is already an average of all scores so far.

70.76 will be 90% of the final grade, 0.0 will be 10%.

This is just a weighted average situation with a 9:1 ratio.

Final Score = [(9)(70.76) + (1)(0)] / 10 = 63.68.

You're still passing, but don't skip any more tests! :-)

We would need to know what all your ratios are e.g.

test 1, 2, 3 are 10%

final 40%

HW 30%

Cannot make a calculation with out all ratios. But maybe your test with a zero is replaced by the final exam grade.
