Why did Operation Market Garden go ahead when the allies knew German armor was in the area?

Montgomery's ill-fated operation to capture the Rhine crossing at Arnhem was ingenious but fatally flawed. Evidence suggests that the Allies knew there were German armoured units in the town a few days before the first paratroopers landed, so why send them? The paras had no effective anti-tank weaponry and so surely it was suicide to carry out the original plan.

They were going to make a fight against time and surprise, of course Montgomery knew the risk. the factor here was time and brave men who took those bridges and held off counter attacks. Sadly, war is evil in every aspect we never know who will win or lose a battle. It was a bridge too far.
