Pronunciation of present tense 'shostan'?

I'm beginning to learn the present tense, and while I don't a firm grip on it yet, it doesn't seem too complicated for the most part. But when I came across the present tense stem of "shostan" which is "shu" I got confused on the pronunciation. If I wanted to say "I wash" it would be "می شويم". So would that be pronounced as "mishuam"? Why did the add the "ye"?

Because "Mishuam" is difficult to pronounce, So we add "ye"

and also if you say " Mishavam " it is totally another meaning, it means : I become.
