Any online sources for finding related Persian words?

Question

For my homework I often have to list persian words which are related to each other (often sharing the same Arabic root letters), for example شهید، مشاهده، شاهد, etc. However, as I don’t know Arabic this isn’t always so obvious. Is there anywhere I can find help with this online?

In Farsi, there are different types of related words called “ هم حانواده” (ham-khaanevadeh)

1)    Words of the same family in Arabic are close in meaning and in most cases have three letters in common.

Like the following groups of word:

حفظ : حافظ – محفوظ – محافظ – محفظه

حس : حساس – محسوس – احساس

حرکت : حرکات - محرک – تحریک – تحرک – متحرک

خبر : اخبار – مخبر – مخابره- مخابرات

2)     The other criterion of related words in Farsi is having the same root or stem of the verb.

دانش – دانا – دانشمند - نکته دان => دان

3)    Compound words with one common part. In this case, we can see a word is repeated exactly as part of a new compound word.

گل زار – گلستان – گل خو – گلدان – گلنوش – گل رخ => گل 

هنرور – هنرمند – هنر دوست – هنری – باهنر => هنر

There are some websites that provide simple lists of vocabulary in Persian, such as:

However the above lists are very basic. With words that you mentioned I would encourage you to check Persian to Persian online dictionaries, such as:
