This is a recipe to make 20 biscuits? (maths question)

a recipe to make 20 biscuits;

1. 12oz flour
2. 6oz butter
3. 4oz sugar
4. 1oz cocoa

Question 1- how many grams of butter do you need? *use 100g=4oz

Question 2- how many ounces of sugar would you need to make 15 biscuits? please show working out

1) If 100g = 4 oz and you need 6oz of butter, we would set up the proportion..

4/100=6/x

We would then cross multiple to get..

4x = 600

The last step would to be solve for x in which x = 150. So 150 grams of butter is needed.

2) If 4 oz of sugar is needed to make 20 biscuits and you are trying to make 15, we would set up a proportion..

4/20 = x/15

We would then cross multiple to get...

20x = 60

Lastly, we would solve for x and get x = 3. Therefore, 3 oz of sugar is needed to make 15 biscuits.
