Questions about word meanings/pronunciation in Persian/Farsi

Hi there! I have a couple of questions about some words that I'm trying to understand. The words are: 1. هیولا 2. عفریت Basically I would like to know how they are pronounced, and what they mean or what is the difference between them. I thought they both meant 'monster' but I might be wrong, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!

Hello my dear friend! I would be very happy to help you distinguish between these to words:

عفریت or Efrit is not same as هیولا because the word ifrit is a powerful type of demon in Islamic mythology and often associated with the underworld and also identified with t he spirit of the dead and had been compare with Evil, and would pronounce as follow: /'efrit/

On the other hand the word هیولا is very close to monster and is pronounce like this: /hayulā/
