Greetings! Lets solve this shall we ?
So we must translate the statement given from a verbal math equation to a numerical equation such that
x - y = 9 and let one of them be -9 such that x = -9. Now we solve for the other number such that
-9 - y = 9..................Add 9 to both sides such that
+9 +9
--------------
-y = 18.................Now we divide -1 to both sides to obtain the other number such that
y = -18
I hope this helped!
