Hello,
Jehovah comes from the German spelling and pronunciation of God’s Proper Hebrew name, YHWH (Yahweh). We get this German-English spelling and pronunciation from a similar Latin word. Many translations would rather simply use “Lord, Adonai, God or Yahweh” depending upon their theological perspective concerning the name of God. I hope this helps. I am available for further tutoring on this subject.
