In English grammar there are four noun genders:
masculine (for men and boys, male gender animals, or positions men hold => king, prince, uncle, son, rooster)
feminine (for women and girls, female gender animals, or positions women hold => queen, princess, aunt, hen)
common (for people of either gender => cousin, doctor, architect, friend)
neuter (for things / objects => book, cup, desk, phone)
