A compound is a combination of atoms bonded together. For example, salt (NaCl) would be a compound.
A mixture, on the other hand, is a combination of different compounds. For example, salt water (NaCl in H20) would be a mixture.
With blood being composed of red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, and platelets, blood would be categorized as a mixture.
