What are some common movie tropes for men?

Hello everyone, I have a question. I guess this isn't really a typical anthropology question, but it falls under popular culture, so that falls under the hat of anthropology in several ways. Maybe there's someone here that can help me out. I've been thinking today, there are a lot of "girlfriend/wife" movie tropes for women. I was trying to explain to a friend today what "boyfriend" trope he is, because there must be a trope for that kind of guy, but I don't know of any. So I tried to google it. After searching for quite some time, I still can't find any information on this topic. Is there anyone here that has an interest in popular culture, that can share with me some links, or other useful resources, that will have information on common movie tropes for men, specifically "boyfriend" tropes, other than "nice guy" and "stalker/won't take no for an answer"? Honestly, I was having an informal discussion, and I was hoping that maybe someone on this forum could point me to some resources with information about male tropes in movies. But I think that this is an interesting topic to discuss. There is a disparity between the tropes used to represent men and the tropes used to represent women and I think there are is a lot of implicit information here about the way popular culture reflects our cultural views on gender. And it's interesting that female, "girlfriend/wife" tropes are much more frequently discussed in the public than "boyfriend/husband" tropes. Though I think that when discussing popular culture, popular sources like links and you tube videos are not as unreliable sources as for other issues, because they are themselves also, instances of popular culture. Also the study of popular culture is not less valuable compared to the more conventional themes in anthropology. The same methods from cultural anthropology, social anthropology, ethnology, anthropological theories, etc. Can be applied to the study of popular culture. And can provide conclusions that are very relevant for our present times.. By the way, I did find the trope that refers to my friend, there is a "formal" name for it in "pop culture circles" :)
