It is called learning through immersion. There are many techniques you can use to help convey what you are trying to communicate. It can depend on age and level of their first language. I may use a combination of things including Total Physical Response (TPR). I recommend taking some training certification classes in ESL like the TESOL/TEFL/CELTA. I hope this helps!
