Artemesia Gentileschi (1593-1653) was an amazing artist and technically as --or more!-- talented than her male peers. She's considered one of the most accomplished painters of the Italian Baroque, and her paintings are often read today as feminist commentary on 17th-C life (though generally through the lens of Biblical heroines). She is truly one of the greats!
