When solving a single logarithmic equation, it's best to change it to exponential form.
logarithmic form: y = logbx
exponential form: by =x
If there is no base for the log it is understood as 10.
Using your example. y= logx is the same as y = log10x but y = 10,
so 10 = log10x. When you change it to exponential form you get 1010 = x.
