Hey! Lets solve this shall we ?
Let the set A be equal to A={z | z is an integer and -5 < z < -3}.
The set can also be written as something else by analyzing the interval in the set! Notice the interval is a combination of two inequalities such that z > -5 and z < -3.
Since -4 > -5 and -4 < -3 via the number line such that
<---o|--->|<---o|----|------->
-5 -4 -3 -2
Note: The arrow pointing to the right represents the numbers increasing on the number line and the arrow pointing left means the values are decreasing on the number line. Therefore, the set can be rewritten as
A = {-4}
I hope this helped!
