Think of some examples. If two friends share the cost it would be 18/2, if three 18/3, and so on.

x is the number of friends
C(x) = 18/x
Since people cannot be fractions, the domain is all integers ≥ 1.
The most someone would pay would be 18, if only one person contributed. So the numbers in the range ≤ 18.
The cost per person is always greater than zero. The range is numbers > 0 and ≤ 18.
