The last 105 years have no equal to the carnage due to warfare that has occurred. Beyond that, however, Old Testament history unique because it has the signature of God woven through it and a common theme is God's relationship with His chosen people. They are obedient, then they fall away. And this cycle repeats itself. Among other things, the personality of God is partially revealed. He is patient, He doesn't fail to discipline wrong doing, and His love is everlasting.
