The best way to capture correct luminosity is to balance the light evenly throughout the scene before making the image. This usually requires additional lights. If you have window light, chances are that light fades towards the rest of the room.
Given what you already have, I would develop two images of the same scene. In the first example process for proper exposure of the window light. In the second example, process for the shadows of the darker part of the room. In photoshop, blend the two together using gradient masks. GC
