Anakin is saving for a Xbox One. He currently has $165 saved and earns $40 per week doing chores around the house. If an Xbox costs $500 plus 10% sales tax, how long will it take for him to save that amount?

Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the previous scenario. Define the domain and range for Anakin. Graph the equation on the coordinate plane. Circle the point at which he has saved enough to purchase the Xbox.

The Xbox will cost 500(1.10) =$550

550-165=385 how much more he needs

40x=385

X=9.625

So he will need 10 weeks

The equation would be

y=40x+165

You would circle the point where y=550

(9.625,550) on the graph as that is the amount of money needed.

The domain [0,9.625] or [0,10)

The range are the y values. Since he started with 165 and needs 550 that is the range [165,550]

When graphing you should start from the y-intercept at (0,165) and end at (9.625,550). A straight line with slope 40.

So on the y axis the best increments would probably be by 50s (0 then 50 then 100 etc) on the x axis you can label it in single digits since you only need 0 to 10.
