Logically, I remembered the Whiskey Rebellion and Shay's Rebellion occurring in the U.S. However, the White Lotus Rebellion sounds Chinese-related. I looked it up online, locating this site:

The White Lotus Rebellion started as a sectarian rebellion in 1796 in central China when the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) underwent a transition from the Qianlong emperor (r. 1736–1795) to his son, the Jiaqing emperor (r. 1796–1820). In suppressing the rebellion, the Qing military commanders proactively took advantage of the war to serve their own interest, making the campaign a long‐lasting and extremely costly one.
