In the brain, there are neurons called mirror neurons. A mirror neuron fires both when a person performs a specific action and when they observe someone else performing that action. This may contribute to empathy because these neurons are triggered when we observe someone else displaying an emotion, such as happiness or anger. This then helps us feel what the other person is experiencing.
