When should I use 经验 and when should I use 经历?

Can I say "跟据我的经历那儿的人很友好"? Is this a correct sentence? Should I use 经历, 经验, or is there a better way to say this sentence?

经历and 经验 are very similar. you could say: 根据我的经验那儿的人很友好; or 根据我的经历那儿的人很友好。

"跟据我的经历那儿的人很友好" is a correct sentence grammatically. But you have a 错别字. It should be *根*据 with 木 as the radical instead of 足as the radical.

But "根据我的经验*,那儿的人很友好" is also correct. There is slight difference between 经历 and 经验. 经历 is more about what you experienced in a particular place or at a particular time. 经验 is more about what you learned or obtained from your experience.
