Spanish and French have many similarities since both share the same origin, Latin. Next I will name the most important:
- They share the same basic letters of the alphabet. This implies that the two languages, although with different sounds, share the same basic writing system.
- They present a high percentage of similarity of words between the two languages, that is, there are a large number of terms that are written in almost the same way and express the same.
- Similarities regarding grammatical characteristics, roughly we can name: verbal conjugation, gender in the names, formal and informal terms for the second person of the singular.
A Spanish-speaking student will find it easy to learn the grammar rules of French or vice versa.
