“As well as” and “as well” are relatively interchangeable.
Example:
I’m going to the mall as well as going to the movies.
or
I’m going to the mall as well as the movies.
These phrases are generally used formally, but can be used informally as well. It depends on context. When one finds themself struggling with phrases like this, put it in a sentence and 9 times out of 10, your first instinct as to what sounds correct, is correct.
