Since time is always the independent variable (on the x-axis) you can write the data as points

Since 2am is 2 hours after 12am we can make that time (2, 54)

And the 5am time (5,45)

I imagine the rest of the question night ask you about the slope or average rate of change which can be found by subtracting the y's/x's

Slope=(54-45)/(2-5)

=9/-3

=-3

The slope indicates each hour since midnight the temperature decreased by 3 degrees
