I don't understand what のも means in this sentence?

Here's the sentence in question: > 生まれた**のも**育った**のも**京都なんですよ I thought using の in a sentence signified possession (ie. 私の本 [My book]). If I interpret the sentence as such, it doesn't make any sense. Then I came to the conclusion that I should include the も from the sentence and read it as のも, but doing that made the sentence even more confusing. Please help!

　生まれたのも　育ったのも　京都なんですよ is formed when you combine two sentences, "I was born in Kyoto" and "I also grew up in Kyoto." Another example is ミュジカルで　歌ったのも　踊ったのも　初めてなんですよ when you combine two sentences "I sang in the musical for the first time" and "I also danced in the musical for the first time." When you combine two or more sentences together, you add のも to the verbs (past casual tense: 生まれた、育った、歌った、踊った etc.); however, you add も to nouns as in 宿題(homework)も　教科書(textbook)も　忘れた when you combine two sentences "I forgot (to bring) my homework" and "I also forgot (to bring) my textbook."
