11 x 16 = 176 and 11 x 19 = 209
Looking at these answers what do you notice? the answers are both 6 more than the number inside ( ).
so for 17 ( ) 18 , 17 x 18 = 306,but this is 6 more than the number we are looking for. This gives us,
