One of the ways that GIS is used in market research is to determine the buying habits in a particular location. If a company notices that snow shoes are not bought in Florida, they will be able to learn to not send snow shoes to Florida. Another way it can be used is when examining the language, this is especially true in a country such as Switzerland, where a population speaks different languages in different parts of the country. GIS can be used to predict which product will sell best where, that's the bottom line.
