I think it really depends on what kind of learner you are. When I took my anatomy unit in the cadaver lab for my Physical Therapy training, there were students that could simply memorize the muscle attachments and other landmarks by quizzing each other verbally. They had no problem studying by just going over text on note cards and memorizing by repetition. I did much better by creating visual representations (drawing out the structures) or also going to our PT lab and using the skeleton model to visualize what I was learning. There is no right way though!
