I would suggest "articulate".

Do you think "wordsmith" might work?
Depending on your purpose, it might be clearer to describe such a person using more than a single noun, but "wordsmith" is defined as "skilled user of words" (from Oxford Living Dictionaries, en.oxforddictionaries.com), so it may be a good fit.

Orator actually refers to a public speaker, rather than a writer. I cannot think of a word that specifically encompasses a good writer and speaker (and neither can the thesaurus as far as I can tell!) However, I don't think it's cumbersome to say someone is an eloquent or effective writer and speaker. If you are writing about a person, you could say "An excellent communicator, Mark Twain was both a gifted writer and speaker." If the person is good at communication overall, you could say that they have good "interpersonal skills." This would encompass not only speaking/writing but also listening, their demeanor, etc.
