Deena withdrew 2/3 of the money in her savings account. She spent 7/8 of the money that she withdrew to have her house painted & she used the rest to buy a refrigerator. What fraction of Deena's savings did she spend to have her house painted ?

She spent 7/8 of the 2/3 she withdrew. So if you multiply 7/8 x 2/3 that will give you the fraction of her savings she spent.

7/8 x 2/3 = 14/24 then simply to get 7/12.
