In a barn there are pigs and chickens if there is one more pig than chickens in the barn and there are total of 40 legs in all them how many of each animals are there

P = C+1

4P +2 C = 40 ---> 2P + C = 20

2(C+1) + C = 20

2C + 2 + C = 20

3C + 2 = 20

3C = 18

C = 6
