6 + 3 = 4x

This question is really vague because it should be presented in either of two ways to avoid confusions.

 

3/x + 3/2x = 2

 

1: 3/(x+3)/(2x)=2

->3/((2x^2)+6x)=2

->3/2=(2x^2)+6x

->(2x^2)+6x-1.5

-> use quadratic formula to solve for x

 

2. (3/x)+(3/2x)=2

->(6/2x)+(3/2x)=2

->9/2x=2

->9/2=2x

->x=2.25

(9/2)(1/x)=2

1/x=2/(9/2)=4/9

x=9/4
